Gunmen abduct Uniben Student, Demand Ransom

Benin City Feb 20, (THEWILL) – Gunmen on Saturday kidnapped the son of suspended Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Mr. Patrick Aisien right in front of the main gate entrance of the University of Benin, Ugbowo, Benin City, Edo State.

Uyi Aisien, the only son of the council chairman and final year student of Industrial Mathematics of the institution was taken away on a motorbike at 7.a.m. while embarking on a journey back home after studying all night at the school. A friend who was with him was beaten during the crime.

Family sources confirmed to our reporters that the gunmen have made a ransom demand of N50 million naira and have also communicated a location where the money should be taken to in Bayelsa State.

The suspended local government chairman was suspended for financial impropriety on Wednesday by the Edo State government.
