Delta Police Nab 29 Persons With Bags of Cannabis
Asaba Jan 31, (THEWILL) – A combined team of state security forces including Delta State police, NDLEA, army and SSS smashed a gang of 29 who specialize in growing and distributing cannabis (Indian hemp) in the state and country. The suspects were arrested at Umunchi-Nta, Ndokwa East, Delta State.
Parading the suspects before the media, state police spokesman, ASP Charles Muka told THEWILL that acting on a tip off, a combined team of police and NDLEA stormed their hideout and arrested the suspects.
Muka disclosed that nine locally made guns, 80 live carriages and other dangerous weapons were recovered during the raid.
Muka said the suspects who are currently in police custody have made useful confessional statements that will further help the police in its investigation adding that as soon as investigation was concluded, the matter will be taken to court for prosecution.
