Delta Police Kill Man At Function

Asaba Jan 31, (THEWILL) - A trigger happy Policeman, attached to Delta State police command has killed a man, Mr. Nwabunde Ajufo, 30, during a marriage ceremony in Ibusa, Oshimili North local government Area of the state.

The policeman a native of Anambra State is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol and some other substances when the incident occurred.

THEWILL checks revealed that the policeman was seen drinking several bottles of beer while the ceremony lasted, prompting him to open fire sporadically into the air in midst of invitees.

Our checks also revealed that because the policeman was intoxicated, his firearm believed to be an Ak47, dropped a couple of times before a bullet fatally struck Mr. Ajufo. Eyewitnesses say he died on the spot.

Confirming the incident, the state police public relations officer, Mr. Charles Muka said the officer has been arrested and would be prosecuted, adding that the body of the victim has been deposited at a hospital in Ibusa.

Most pundits agree that the Nigerian policemen are without doubt one of the most corrupt in the world. The force has been criticized for not training its officers properly before drafting them into the force.
