Super Eagles Fall 1-3 To Egypt

San Francisco Jan 12, (THEWILL) – The Super Eagles started the African Nations Cup with a 1-3 loss to Egypt in a Group C match played in Benguela, Angola.
The Eagles scored first in the 12th minute from a Chinedu Obasi strike before Emad Moteab in the 35th minute, Ahmed Hassan in the 54th minute and Mohamed Nagy Gedo in the 87 minute scored to give Egypt their first victory over the Eagles since 1963.
In the Nigerian team were players like, Yakubu Ayegbeni, Kanu Nwankwo who came on for John Obi Mikel, Joseph Yobo and Taye Taiwo.
Egypt is in the tournament as defending champions.
