San Francisco Jan 11 (THEWILL) – The British Broadcasting Service (BBC) web site is reporting that Nigeria's president, Umaru Musa Yar'Adua has told them in a phone call that he hopes to return to Nigeria as soon as he recovers.

The BBC web site in its report did not confirm the president’s location or say whether it actually saw the leader.

According to the BBC, the President said:

"At the moment I am undergoing treatment, and I'm getting better from the treatment. I hope that very soon there will be tremendous progress, which will allow me to get back home," he said.

"I wish, at this stage, to thank all Nigerians for their prayers for my good health, and for their prayers for the nation," he added.

A source who monitored the BBC radio broadcast said the President sounded very frail.

THEWILL had earlier reported quoting sources that the ailing President was in a vegetative state at the Kind Faisal Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Yesterday THEWILL also reported that a book publisher, Mr. Hodderway Books, author of the book 'Crazy Billionaires Speak' said in an article in the American Chronicle and in a follow up chat with THEWILL that President Yar'Adua had died on January 10, 2010.

The general feeling of majority of Nigerians is still one of uncertainty as we await a live television broadcast from the President to the nation.
