Sectarian Violence Erupts In Bauchi State
Abuja (THEWILL)- An Islamic religious sect, Kalokato struck today in the Zango area of Bauchi killing two soldiers and at least six other people including children.
THEWILL has gathered that the sect went on rampage to demand the release of their leader who was arrested by Nigerian authorities. Some houses have been burnt down and Nigerian security forces have been deployed to stall the violence.
The secretary to the state government, Alhaji Hamed Ibrahim Dambija issued a statement condemning the violence saying it was as a result of a disagreement between members of a religious sect in the state.
The state Governor, Isa Yuguda, is currently in the United States of America on a visit.
