Benin (THEWILL) - A reliable source has revealed that 2 prominent individuals have been arrested and detained at the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) office in connection with the kidnap and murder of 66year old Nze Jerome Atusiaka, which occurred several weeks ago.

Mr. Atusiaka’s body was found buried in a shallow grave a month after he was kidnapped in Agbor, Delta State.

The persons detained are a prominent transporter/ chieftain of the ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Denise Araro and a lady called Charity, operator of a very popular drinking joint called ‘Lady Chart Beer Parlour’ whose Toyota Camry car was said to have been used in conveying the body of the victim to the site of the shallow grave. These persons are based in Boji-Boji metropolis in Agbor, Delta State.

This is an interesting dimension to the story of the kidnap/murder that has been making the news in the metropolis and the state.

The family of the deceased had written a petition to the Inspector General of Police Ogbonnaya Onovo early this month urging him to transfer the matter from the Delta State Police Command alleging that there were efforts to compromise investigations by those involved.

Delta State Police Command spokesperson was unavailable to comment on the matter. Several phone calls and text messages to his phone were not responded to.
