Lagos (THEWILL) - A very strange occurrence happened on Tuesday morning on Ikorodu road, Onipanu area of Lagos when a parcel bomb detonated on the courier.

The man whose identity we still do not know was carrying multiple packages for delivery. He was reported to have walked into the building housing a television station called Superscreen TV at about 1.40 p.m when one of them suddenly detonated blowing off his hands and causing injuries to several parts of his body.

Superscreen Television is located at 151 Ikorodu road, Onipanu Bus Stop. It is allegedly owned by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder of Christ Embassy.

Investigations show that the courier said he was forced to deliver parcels to senior executives of the television station. We have confirmed that the parcels were addressed to Mr. Dipo Isaac, the COO of the station and Mr. Emeh Akwari.

Police bomb disposal squad arrived at the building after the explosion and took possession of the remaining parcel bombs, which they diffused on site.

The man was taken into custody alive. Police say they will carry out further investigations.

A Nigerian journalist Mr. Dele Giwa, who was then editor-in-chief of Newswatch magazine, was killed by a letter bomb in his Ikeja home on October 16, 1986.
