Detained Newspaper Editor Released
Abuja (THEWILL) - Ahmed Shekarau, the detained editor of Peoples Daily who was arrested on Monday by officials of the State Security Service has been released. He was released at 7 p.m. (WAT) same day but was ordered to report daily to the outfit.
The editor of the Abuja paper was arrested for reports in its Friday’s edition concerning President Yar’Adua ‘s ill-health and the ongoing schemes in the country to produce a Vice-President.
The agency has come under criticisms lately for harassing the media over reports on the health of the ailing president.
The company said it has recruited a solicitor.
