Edo State Chief Judge Dead
Justice Michael Irobun Edokpayi, Chief Judge of Edo State is dead. He died early tuesday in his Abuja hotel room while attending the Biennial All-Judges Conference holding at the National Judicial Institute Jabi.
The cause of death has not been released by the National Hospital in Abuja. The Late 61 year-old Judge’s body is at the hospital’s mortuary.
Justice Edokpayi was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1980, he was appointed a judge in 1991 and became Chief Judge in 2004.
The Governor of Edo State has described his death as shocking and sudden.
