Los Angeles (THEWILL) – The rift between Michael's parents, Joe, 81, and Katherine, 79, came to light in a Los Angeles Superior Court tuesday, after Katherine Jackson informed the court she was dropping her suit challenging the two men named as administrators of her son’s estate, John Branca and John McClain.

The sudden decision to drop her suit was obviously not discussed with Joe because it started a legal fight in court.

Katherine Jackson’s new lawyer, Adam Streisand told a surprised Judge Michael Beckloff that his client had decided to support the team of Branca and McClain because they have so far done a great job with managing the estate.

“She feels that Mr. Branca and Mr. McClain have been doing an admirable job, and we are going to partner them and work closely with them to make sure that the estate is doing the best that it can for the legacy of Michael Jackson, and for the kids most importantly.”

Joe Jackson’s lawyer, Brian Oxman in anger accused Katherine Jackson of stabbing Joe behind Joe’s back. He lambasted her for making a deal with the estate without carrying Joe along. He called Katherine’s actions “one of the most despicable displays” he has ever encountered in court.

In his response, Streisand told the judge that Joe Jackson “has no right in the assets of the estate”.

After the heated exchange of words between both lawyers, judge Beckloff approved John Branca and John McClain as executors of the estate.

Joe Jackson will have his date in court on December 10 in his fight to get a monthly allowance from the estate.

Also in court Tuesday, documents revealed that the late singer’s funeral cost the estate a whooping $1.098 million dollars. A break down of expenditure showed the Glendale Police Department and City got $175,086.31, the internment cost $590,000 amongst others.

The king of pop died on June 25th, this year from an overdose of propofol at the age of 50.
