SWINE FLU HITS NIGERIA
Lagos (THEWILL) – Nigeria has reported its first H1N1 swine flu case in Lagos. A nine year-old Nigerian girl who just arrived from the United States of America is said to have recovered after 5 days of severe symptoms including sore throat, fever and nausea. Her mother was also treated for mild symptoms.
The ministry of health has said that there are enough antiviral drugs in all the states to contain the virus.
H1N1 is a deadly strain that is easily transmitted from one infected person to another. Millions of people have been infected worldwide, with an estimated 5,000 deaths reported.
