Cross River State Sign Deals To Construct Roads In Ekori; IBB Way Too
CROSS RIVER STATE GOVERNOR, SENATOR LIYEL IMOKE
CALABAR, January 25, (THEWILL) - The Cross River State Government has signed agreements for the construction of roads in Ekori Town, Yakurr Local Government Area, as well as IBB Way in Calabar. There was no information available regarding the total cost of the projects as at press time.
The contracts were awarded to a local company Sermatec.
This was disclosed in a press briefing by the Permanent Secretary for Works, Arch. Linus Ovat in the Ministry Of Works Conference room Wednesday in Calabar.
According to the Permanent Secretary, the Governor of the State, Senator Liyel Imoke approved the construction of 6km urban roads in Ekori town as well, as the rehabilitation of the IBB Way in Calabar Metropolis, which measures about 2km.
Speaking further, he disclosed that consultants are presently working on the evaluation reports gathered so as to enable them properly utilize services of the contractors.
The Public Relations Officer of Sermatec, Mr. Ento Idako, who stood in for the company expressed great satisfaction and thanked the Government as well as the Ministry for giving his company the opportunity to handle the project.
