DAY 2 AT MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK NY SPRING/SUMMER 2011
New York, (THEWILL) - It was the second day here at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York, and the energy was amazing! Fashions Night out was celebrated like a holiday. The entire city seemed to be on steroids. I attended 2 shows (Georges Chakra and Ports 1961) earlier in the day, then at night went up to Madison Avenue where African American designer, Byron Lars was presenting his collection at the Sony Store.
Georges Chakra
The collection was made up of luxurious gowns embellished and bejeweled with some interwoven and matted fabric. Chakra is known for his exquisite gowns and so as was expected, the entire collection was comprised of dresses.
The predominant fabric of choice was silk. Lots of colors, but there were also monochromatic shades as well.
