MTN Nigeria Sack Workers

Lagos- (THEWILL) – MTN Nigeria on thursday announced it has sacked 65 of its employees, including three managers and two supervisors in order to strengthen its customer service delivery according to a company representative, Akin Braithwaite.

The move is coming after its parent company, MTN SA announced on monday it was retrenching more than 70% of its temporary staff, due to the melt down in the country.

MTN Nigeria said in a statement it has budgeted N25 billion naira for its customer-care operations for 2010, noting it has invested about N4.5 billion naira so far to provide excellent customer care service.

MTN Nigeria is a subsidiary of MTN Group, Africa's biggest telecommunications provider.
